Angelo M. Buongiovanni
Chairman of the Rete Telematica Regionale Toscana, Italy
Born in Turin, 1960, Angelo M. Buongiovanni has been an alumnus of the Scuola Normale Superiore and has earned a magna cum laude bachelor degree in Greek Literature at the University of Pisa. Since 1987 he teaches Classics in the public high schools, where he has been involved in the main national experimental programs aimed at the introduction of multimedia and internet in teaching.
From 1999 to 2004 he has been Councillor for ICT of Provincia di Pisa and e-Government Representative for the Unione Regionale delle Province Toscane (Association of the Tuscan Provinces). He has been a member of the Strategic Board of the Rete Telematica Regionale Toscana
(Tuscany ICT and e.government public network) from 1999 to 2004; he has participated in drafting the Tuscan Regional Law on Information Society and e-Government (n. 1/2004)  and has chaired the interim committee for its implementation from August to November, 2004.
In November, 2004 he was elected Chairman of the Rete Telematica Regionale Toscana, a body composed by more than 300 public and private subjects and whose function is to coordinate policies on Information Society and e-Government on a regional basis.
